[Seminar] [Special Seminar] Juneyoung Lee, Ph.D. (Moderna), Jul/05/2022 (Jul 5, 2022)

In this talk, first, I will go over some of my past research on “Trehalose Glycopolymers and Hydrogels for Enhancing Protein Stability”. Then I will focus on my career journey by sharing my experience throughout Yonsei University, University of California, Los Angeles (graduate school), California Institute of Technology (post-doctoral), and being part of the US Biotech industry, Moderna. The talk will be informal, engaging, and interactive by encouraging active participation and questions from the audience.

[Seminar] [Special Seminar] Prof. Joon Sup Yeom & Hyuk Min Lee (Yonsei Severance), Jun/21/2022 (Jun 17, 2022)

On Tuesday, Jun 21st, 2022, the 9th Special Seminar of IBS CNM & NanoBME will be held at the Auditorium at IBS Hall at 4:00 p.m.

[Seminar] [Special Seminar] Prof.Niko Hildebrandt (SNU/Université Paris-Saclay), May/24/2022 "Multiplexed FRET nanobiosensors for optical barcoding and molecular logic gates" (May 11, 2022)

The presentation will explain timeresolved and time-gated FRET and the specific benefits for spectral and temporal luminescence multiplexing with different materials and instruments. Then, recent applications concerning multiplexed FRET biosensing and bioimaging in solution, in-vitro, in-situ, and in-vivo with a special focus on optical barcoding and molecular logic gates will be discussed.

[Seminar] [Special Seminar] Shinae Jun, Ph.D. (SAIT), May/23/2022 "나노와 첨단산업 (디스플레이)" (May 11, 2022)

Quantum dot is a semiconductor nanoparticle having a size of 1 to 10 nm, and it is easy to control color by size or composition, and has the advantage of high luminous efficiency and narrow peak width. Color is very important factor to realize images in the display, so superior quality values of displays are not achievable without a higher color gamut. Quantum dot is very promising emission material to realize high color gamut. In this seminar, I would like to talk about the application of QD to display and how Samsung has developed advanced display with QD.

[Seminar] [Special Seminar] Prof.Jinwoo Kim (Yonsei/HAII), May/10/2022 (May 6, 2022)

On Tuesday, May 10th, 2022, the 6th Special Seminar of IBS CNM & NanoBME will be held at the Auditorium at IBS Hall at 4:30 p.m.

[Seminar] [Special Seminar] Prof.Joon Won Park (Postech), May/03/2022 "Bio AFM : Ultrasensitive Tool for Liquid Biopsy and Bioanalysis" (Apr 20, 2022)

My academic journey with Bio AFM started with dendron-coated AFM probes that enable truly one-to-one interaction leading to enhanced accuracy and reproducibility. Such approach enables direct quantification of DNA, mRNA, microRNA, and proteins of low abundance without amplification or labeling. Also, we are pleased to demonstrate that the force mapping visualizes various biomolecules on cell surface at the nanometric resolution. The highest sensitivity and spatial resolution pave a new avenue for the bioanalysis. In particular, application for liquid biopsy is quite attractive because direct and sensitive nature allows us to diagnose cancer at early stages with the minimal false signals.

[Seminar] [Special Seminar] Prof.Sunghoon Kwon (SNU), Apr/19/2022 "Digital Immune Processing (DIP) for next generation healthcare" (Apr 12, 2022)

On Tuesday, April 19th, 2022, the third Special Seminar of IBS CNM & NanoBME will be held at the Auditorium at IBS Hall at 3:30 pm.

[Seminar] [Special Seminar] Prof.Young Chul Sung (POSTECH/Genexine), Jan/20/2022 "생명의신비: 생노병사" (Jan 17, 2022)

On Thursday, January 20th, 2022, the second Special Seminar of IBS CNM & NanoBME will be held at the Auditorium at IBS Hall at 4 p.m.

[Seminar] [Special Seminar] Prof.Dong Hee Son (Texas A&M/Yonsei ASI), Jan/11/2022 "Hot electrons generated via upconversion for enhancing photoinduced chemical processes" (Dec 31, 2021) Hot

The presentation will highlight recently demonstration of the anticipated benefits of the upconverted hot electrons in several photocatalytic reduction and redox-neutral reactions. Development of new material platform for more efficient hot electron upconversion and the prospects of expanding the application of the energetic hot electrons in beyond photocatalysis will be discussed.

[Seminar] [Special Seminar] Yoonho Kim, Ph.D (MIT), Dec/21/2021 "Magnetic Soft Materials and Robots for Biomedical Applications" (Dec 17, 2021) Hot

In this talk, we discuss the recent progress in the design and fabrication, modeling and simulation, and actuation and control of magnetic soft materials and robots. We discuss the continuum mechanical framework for hard-magnetic soft materials and design guidelines for optimal performance of magnetic soft actuators. We then discuss the potential of magnetic soft robots for biomedical applications, focusing on our example of magnetic soft continuum robots towards telerobotic neurointervention for treating stroke and aneurysms.
