Prof. Kwanghun Chung (MIT, Y-IBS Professor) gave us a talk with a title : How I fell in love with science. Talk started at 4pm on Tuesday January 15th.

Free Jazz Concert plus Coffee and cakes~ Thanks for coming to join us IBS Science Talk by Prof. Donghee Son (Texas A&M, Y-IBS Professor) He gave us a talk over 'Quantum Dots'.Talk was held at 3:30 pm on Tuesday December 18th. Jazz Concert was held prior to the talk at 3:00 pm. Audiences seemed to have enjoyed free coffee and cakes.

[News] Center for NanoMedicine listed on 'Outstanding National R&D Performances in 2018' (Nov 29, 2018)

Three IBS Centers Listed on "Outstanding National R&D Performances in 2018" Three IBS Centers - Center for Quantum Nanoscience; Center for Artificial Low Dimensional Electronic Systems; and Center for Nanomedicine - have their 2017 papers selected as the outstanding 2018 R&D research publications from the government funding. The Ministry of Science and ICT has been announcing 100 top national R&D papers every year since 2006 to raise the public interest in science and technology and to boost confidence of those in the fields. Among the evaluations criteria include assessment by the relevant government ministries, publication by major science journals, and public interest. [Event] IBS Science Talk-1 by Prof. Hakho Lee (Harvard Medical School) (Nov 20, 2018)

Prof. Hakho Lee (Harvard Medical School, IBS Professor) gave us a talk over tumor exosomes- the courier of cancer information. Before the talk, Jazz performance was held at 3:30 pm together with free coffee and cakes served.

[Forum] IBS CNM Global Leader Symposium (May 11, 2018)

IBS Center for NanoMedicine hosted Global Leader Symposium on May 11th 2018. 5 distinguished global scholars including Nobel Laureate Prof. Randy Schekman (UC-Berkeley), Joan Valentine, Editor of Accounts of Chemical Research, Joachim Spatz, Director of Max Planck Institute, Joanna Aizenberg, Director of Kavli Institute and Prof.Euisik Yoon from University of Michigan were invited to symposium. The symposium was run under the title of 'Nanoscience: Expanding our Understanding of Life, Driving Innovation for the Future.'

[Forum] [News] Director Cheon Jinwoo Wins International Achievement Award (Apr 4, 2018)

Director CHEON Jinwoo of the Center for Nanomedicine was honored with 2017/2018 International Alumni Award for Exceptional Achievement by University of Illinois. The Award is given to the international Illinois alum who made a positive social impact through his/her contributions to government, science, or art. Established on the funds donated by Dr. Jagdish N. Sheth, the award is officially known as the Madhuri and Jagdish N. Sheth International Alumni Award for Exceptional Achievement.

IBS CNM Global Workshop Series on "Big Waves on the Interface of Nano/Life Sciences" was held on March 2, 2018 at Baekyang Nuri, IBK Hall, Yonsei University.

Prof. Randy Schekman, Nobel Laureate in Medicine or Physiology (2013), conducted two-day lecture program on Exploring Careers in Biomedical Science on September 18~29, 2018.
